In a landmark move in the 4G segment, Huawei in association with Airtel has launched India's first 4G (LTE-TDD) smartphone Huawei Ascend P1 days before Airtel launches 4G services in Pune (expected on 18th Oct).In India, 4G services are currently available in only in Kolkata & Bangalore with Airtel being the sole operator on the front.
The 6.68mm Ultra-thin phone is powered by 1.5GHz Dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and runs Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwitch).The phone handles high speed data on 4G & voice on underlying 3G network using Circuit Switched Voice Fall Back (CSFB ) technology. The price, availability and data bundling offers (if any) with Airtel are yet to be annonced.
